The largest hardwood forest in the world extends from Maine to Georgia along the Appalachian trail and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here the pioneer settler found an abundance of Oak, Chestnut and Heart pine to build their frontier home. Heartland Restorations searches this area to offer the highest quality of log construction available today.

Timothy Robinson owner of Heartland Restorations has been in this unique business for the past 25 years. His appreciation for early American architecture and knowledge of history helps blend tradition with the practical use for the modern day family.

No two cabins are the same; your cabin will have its own unique style and history. Heartland also researches the builder and the family who lived inside these walls of memories. Your purchase of a cabin will not only preserve an important part of Americas past but also keep alive the stories of the families who built their dreams in this newfound land.

Our hands on experience also allow us to offer the highest quality hardware and accessories for your log home construction and lifestyle. Please visit our Online Store.

WHY BUY AN ANTIQUE CABIN?

Participating in the preservation and restoration of a piece of American history has its own rewards, providing you with a sense of contribution and accomplishment; however, there are also many practical reasons for owning an antique cabin.  New log cabins, whether kits or pre-constructed, are built using "green" logs. This means the wood has not had a chance to cure, and will shrink, crack, and move after it has been used to build your walls. Extensive engineering, maintenance and specialized hardware are required to allow the cabin to settle properly as the wood dries.

You can be assured that after 100 years or more of drying time, the hardwood logs we use at Heartland are dry. In fact, given the quality of craftsmanship we provide in restoring your cabin, it should still be standing 200 years from now!
